The Citadela restaurant is located in the village of Vardarac, only a few kilometres from the centre of the Municipality of Bilje and along the border with the ”Kopački rit” Nature Park.
Citadela is well-known for its excellent paprika-flavoured fish stew (’’fiš paprikaš’’) and freshwater fish specialties.
Over-30-year-long catering tradition based on domestic cuisine has made the restaurant and the entire village of Vardarac famous, which is now known for Baranyan hospitality and first-class gastronomy.
Among a wide selection of homemade food one has to mention freshwater fish delicacies such as carp put on forked branches and exposed to an open fire (’’šaran u rašljama’’), fried frog’s legs and various venison and grilling recipes. However, Citadela is best-known for its supreme paprika-flavoured fish stew (’’fiš paprikaš’’) and homemade noodles.
Considering its geographic position, the Citadela restaurant is regarded as a perfect starting point for tourists, in which they can experience Baranya through an authentic food and drink offer before they completely give themselves over to this exquisite region.
Also, the restaurant is convenient for ultimate relaxation after whole-day thrills in the openness of this land of plenty.
The restaurant consists of an indoor part, a large terrace and a newly-built gazebo. It can host all kinds of celebrations and wedding receptions for up to 250 persons.
