Sweet red, especially hot peppers, have allegedly a lot of healing effects, are the soul of every Baranja dish, especially fish dishes, such as stews, perkelt, but also čobanac, sausage, simply everything that baranjac prepare on the fire and by the fire. Today Baranja pepper is recognizable Croatian product. “The Baranja red gold” can be found on the manufacturer’s stalls during local events and on the marketplace of the city of Osijek.
